Hello!

My name is Katie and I’m a Denver-based UX/UI Designer that embraces both the analytical and creative aspects of the design process.

My unique background in anthropology and design-related journalism has helped me to develop a robust and varied skill set that includes primary and secondary research, content creation and strategy, visual design, and fluency in design software (especially Figma and Adobe CC). Using my innate curiosity and systems-based approach to problem-solving, I aim to create accessible and artful experiences that meet both user and business needs.

In my free time, you can find me designing punny greeting cards, listening to podcasts, walking my pup Wilbur, or trying to cook up something tasty!

UX Designer | Freelance
Jan. 2022 - Jul. 2022

Worked with individual clients on UX projects that included conducting user research and creating relevant deliverables, including wireframes, archetype personas, competitive analysis, and/or prototypes. Example projects include:

  • Do Good Be Good: Conducted user interviews, secondary user research, competitive analysis, and content inventory to create insights that informed the design of low- and high-fidelity iterations of an educational mobile app concept for AmeriCorps members. Presented and handed off wireframes, prototypes, design system, style guide, and next steps to client. Spearheaded style guide and design system with eye towards accessibility.

  • OSSOM Jobs: Conducted usability testing on an existing online job board website for creatives, identified and designed key interaction improvements for increased usability, completed iterative testing, and assembled handoff materials in Figma.

I am unabashedly #podcastobsessed. These are some of my favorite shows at the intersection of design, humanity, science, and history.
